Eventually, the two started spending some time with each other and became the best of friends. Their first date was in a place called Iron Horse in Mississippi. This was in 2016, and just a few months into dating, in 2018, they had their first daughter, Morgan, and later on, a son, Kyeran. “We started out as best friends, but it turned out to be so much more than I could have ever imagined,” Watisha tells us.

On their third-year anniversary, Kieran planned a surprise proposal for the bride with all their friends & family in attendance. “He knew how much I wanted both of our families to be a part of it, so he planned for the special day on our third year anniversary (October 22, 2020). He called his family and asked them to come to our family home, where my parents & siblings, were already present. We were just cooking outside, doing the usual and he surprised me with a proposal. We were supposed to go out, but everyone kept this secret from me. In the end, it was all just so perfect,” says Watisha.

Just about a year later, on October 23, 2021, Watisha & Kieran married in the most elegant setup at Blueberry Peace Farm.

A Year Of Planning The Most Perfect Day!

Watisha & Kieran love the outdoors and thought that Blueberry Peace Farms – with its azure ponds, open chapel, rustic barn, and lush gardens – perfectly encompassed their vibe. The venue has a gorgeous setting for the ceremony, both inside and outside. While the couple planned their fall ceremony, followed by lunch, indoors, they got some endearing portraits clicked outdoors. Obviously, the tranquil vibes and picturesque background added much-needed charm to their wedding pictures.

The ceremonial area had a rustic yet refined aesthetic. While we’re a New Orleans coordinator, being a traveling planner, we have a good idea of how to mix in themes and curate a wedding that’s catered to each couple’s wishes and preferences. To fit into this couple’s dream wedding idea, we curated an experience that represented their envisioned idea.

The seating was bedecked with wooden chairs, a mulberry cloth on the table, and some fresh yellow & ivory flowers. The wedding cake was an all-white buttercream frosting one, decorated using white florals and a splash of green sprigs to go with the farm theme. Finally, there were the gorgeous purple palette bridesmaid dresses which made the wedding ceremony look complete.

Watisha Exuded Absolute Queen Vibes

Watisha held one wedding inspiration to the highest degree in her mind. “I wanted to be a princess,” she says. “Although, the actual outcome was much better. I felt like a queen and he was a king,” she adds. Continuing our conversation, she gives the credit to her coordination team who managed everything and didn’t leave anything to stress about. “They just kept me laughing and feel really calm.”

The bride embraced the chill, laid-back atmosphere in a strapless, mermaid-style gown with layers of tulle on the bottom. To complement, she wore a simple diamond jewelry set and let her makeup be soft-glam and hair tied in a low side-bun. Her bouquet had assorted florals in dusty shades against the fall-themed setup. While the bride stole all the attention, the groom looked pretty dapper himself. Dressed in a monochromatic white tux with bits of yellow, he coordinated well with the bride and nailed the wedding dress styling.

A Lot Of Things Made Their Wedding Day Special

Even if you try to plan things to the tee for the big day, some unplanned things are bound to happen. And they don’t have to be bad. In fact, these unplanned elements are what make your wedding day truly unique and give you memories to look back long after. That really is priceless. For Watisha, there were a few unexpected turns of events. “First one was in the morning of the ceremony when Keiran called and told me he met with an accident. I started crying, but they were a mixed bag of thankful & sad tears. Thankful because absolutely nothing happened to him. I felt immensely blessed,” she recalls. The second memorable moment for the couple was when they both saw each other as bride & groom. “The way he looked at me when I walked down the aisle in my wedding dress. Those feelings are etched in my heart forever,” the bride says.

Lastly, the couple loved how their reception intro turned out. “It was truly epic,” Watisha says. The happiness & content in her voice was palpable as she spoke these words. After all, it’s a wonderful feeling when you spend months planning a certain moment and replay it’s vision over & over in your head, and when the moment comes, it turns out to be even better than you imagined. That was the case for this beautiful couple.

Watisha also added another lovely aspect of her wedding day, “my high-school friends who had come a long way just for this “one” day.”

As traveling planner, our experiences enclose many standalone affairs. It’s a pleasure to be around all the love: witnessing it, and most importantly, feeling it. Watisha & Keiran’s special day at Blueberry Peace Farm will stay in our hearts forever, and we will always cherish their warmth & kindness.

There’s utter beauty in farm weddings.
